1. What should I charge for my plot?
In the United States, we've seen pricing range from $30 to $100 USD for a 20' x 20' (6m x 6m) plot for a year. It typically depends on your location, how many other plots or community gardens are in your area, the length of the growing season, and how expensive food is in your country. Also, keep in mind that you also have the option to receive a portion of the crops instead of money.
2. I have a large area available, how should I break it up into multiple plots?
200 square feet (approximately 20 square meters) is a good rule-of-thumb for an average plot size.
3. Is my address visible on YardYum?
After a gardener contacts you through the YardYum messaging system, you have the choice of whether to share your complete address with them (there's a button to do so). Then, and only then, will they see your full address. In public search results, we only show an approximate location for your plot listing.
1. I searched, but can't find any plots nearby - why's that?
We apologize if there's no available plots in your city yet, but we're getting a ton of new members daily, so hopefully there'll be something soon! If you want to help the cause, we'd love it if you told your friends and family about YardYum; hopefully some of them are landowners and have a plot they want to list.
