We created YardYum because we were big fans of SPIN Farming and we recognized that the demand for community gardening was far greater than the supply. Some cities across the USA and Canada have multi-year wait lists for their local gardens. That's a big problem.
YardYum solves this problem by helping property owners to rent out their spare yard space to the community of urban gardeners, and to generate passive income while doing so. Gardeners can also provide a portion of their produce yield to the owner in exchange for access to the garden. So it's truly a win-win situation.
More importantly, we're passionate about the environment, and deeply concerned with climate change. It's unfortunately a little-known fact, but switching to a vegetarian or vegan diet can reduce your carbon footprint more than quitting driving.
So what better way to do our part than to encourage more locally-grown, sustainable, and organic produce? Yum!
